Biography

As a specialist hip replacement surgeon, and expert in modern robotic surgery, Professor Middleton is recognised nationally and internationally for his work.

His appointment as Clinical Lead for hip and knee replacement at the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement has allowed him to work nationally to improve the care of patients undergoing hip replacement surgery. In addition, Professor Middleton is Head of the Orthopaedic Research Department at Bournemouth University where he trains surgeons from all around the world in the latest hip replacement surgery techniques.

Professor Middleton has used his passion and talent as a renowned hip replacement surgeon to build a large clinical practice across four hospitals. He works as an NHS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of Trauma at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital, and privately as a hip replacement surgeon at The Bournemouth Nuffield Hospital and the Harbour Hospital, Poole.
