Q. Do I need a GP referral?
A. No, but it is advised. With your permission Professor Middleton will write to your GP after the consultation.
Q. How much is a consultation with Professor Middleton?
A. £220 for new patient consultation, £140 for a follow up consultation. View all consultation costs.
Q. Which hospital can I have a robotic assisted hip replacement at?
A. Only the Bournemouth Nuffield offers robotic assisted surgery to private patients.
Q. Is hydrotherapy available?
A. Yes, at the Bournemouth Nuffield.
Q. Where does Professor Middleton work privately?
A. Bournemouth Nuffield, Harbour Hospital Poole, Bournemouth Private Patients Unit [BPC] Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Q. Where does Professor Middleton work on the NHS?
A. Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital.
Q. Can I have a private consultation and be referred on to the NHS for treatment?
A. Yes, on-ward referral to local NHS hospitals can be made in line with local NHS guideline referral standards.
Q. Is Robotic Assisted Hip Surgery available on the NHS?
A. Unfortunately not, but Professor Middleton is involved in research studies that will hopefully demonstrate its value to the NHS and make the case for the NHS to invest in this area.
